The Evaluation and Accreditation Council (EAC) of the Hellenic Authority of Higher Education (HAHE) certified that the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) of the Hellenic Mediterranean University complies with the principles of the Quality Standard for the Accreditation of the Internal Quality Assurance System of HAHE and the Principles and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

The validity period of the certification was set at five (5) years, from 15-04-2025 to 14-04-2030.

The evaluation of the IQAS of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (ELMEPA) was carried out on 10 and 11 March 2025, with the visit of the External Evaluation and Accreditation Committee to the headquarters of ELMEPA. The Committees are staffed with experts who are scientists of recognized prestige, Greek or foreign, professors teaching at a similar foreign university, researchers, or specialists, preferably with experience in issues of evaluation, certification and quality assurance in Higher Education. The Committee consisted of three (3) Greek Professors from foreign institutions, one (1) expert from the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and one (1) student from a domestic university. The Committee met on the first day with the Rectorate, the Quality Assurance Committee and the QAU, while on the second day it met with eight (8) different groups of staff (OMEA members, faculty members, teaching and administrative staff with a simultaneous tour of the University Campus, students, postgraduate students and doctoral candidates, Heads of Administrative Units, graduates of all study cycles and organizations/companies).

The overall picture that the Committee obtained of the important steps that have been taken since the establishment of the University and the previous certification was very positive and, in combination with the certification file, led it to judge that the Hellenic Mediterranean University (ELMEPA) Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) fully complies with the seven (7) criteria of HAHE (the options are Compliance, Partial Compliance, Non-Compliance). The Committee certainly pointed out those points that need to be addressed and improved in the coming period.

The Rectorate and the MODIP of the University warmly thank everyone who, with their active participation in the entire spectrum of the institution’s activities, led us to this excellent result. In conclusion, the continuous upward trajectory of the Hellenic Mediterranean University and its commitment to quality assurance issues is proven once again.
