Ensuring gender equality, combating discrimination and inappropriate treatment of individuals due to gender-related prejudices are a key concern of Hellenic Mediterranean University, which respects the principles of the Constitution on equal rights, specifically:
Article 4, paragraph 2 on equal rights and obligations between Greek men and women.
Article 116, paragraph 2, which institutionalizes the elimination of discrimination based on gender and the undertaking of positive actions to promote equality between men and women.

POLICIES FOR COMBATING DISCRIMINATION IN THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY
Every official text related to the institutional, functional and organizational framework of Hellenic Mediterranean University should be consistent with the above principles.
The use of language by Hellenic Mediterranean University’s bodies and publications should gradually adapt to the need to reflect, as far as possible, gender equality.
Both sexes should be represented in academic and administrative committees.
The collection and statistical analysis of data on the position of women and their professional careers within the institution should exist, with the aim of addressing phenomena of exclusion in scientific knowledge and in positions of responsibility.
There should be substantial support for members of the Hellenic Mediterranean University Community who are parents, so that they can combine family with their professional obligations and/or their studies.
There should be decisive and effective treatment of the phenomenon of sexual harassment.
